Update: I have updated this blog post to reflect my current request to the Cook County Board of Commissioners concerning a “Letter of Support” rather than a “Resolution of Support.”
Everyone, we need action! Before next Tuesday, please call, email, or write to your County Commissioner (find them HERE) and tell them that you wish them to sign the “Letter of Support” for Lake View Natural Dairy (LVND).
It has been proposed by Commissioner Gamble that the Cook County Commissioners voice their support in a resolution at Tuesday, March 17th’s regular meeting at 11:30am (if you want to speak you must be there at 10:00am during the public comment time), concerning LVND. I have recommended a “Letter of Support“. Contrary to last weeks show of support during the court hearing, there is actually opposition to the Cook County Commissioners signing a resolution stating their support for LVND (to provide food choices to the residents of Cook County and the free choice of men and women having the right to privately associate with the dairy). Some may not view that it is the commissioners place to make their voice heard in this debate. I say that this is the exact type of issue that is at the heart of the oath they took upon excepting their office!
Article 6, paragraph 3 of the US Constitution REQUIRES that, “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution…” That means judges, sheriffs, county attorneys, city attorneys, governors, mayors, city counsel members and county commissioners must uphold and defend the constitution! That is where there oath comes from. Not everyone either realizes or supports the fight that LVND is taking upon themselves, which also supports all our own individual liberties.
We all need to email, call and show up on Tuesday, March 17th at 11:30am if possible. The meeting is in the Commissioner’s Room at the Cook County Courthouse (location). Find your commissioners phone contact and email address HERE. Some may voice their opposition to the commissioners, which I commend them in doing (their participation in our constitutional republic method of government), but if we don’t do the same and gather larger support for a letter than against, then the commissioners would likely vote no to a Letter of Support.
Please don’t go on to something else after reading this. Click “HERE” and at the least call your commissioners phone number and leave a message NOW! If we are idle, we will lose. See some of you there Tuesday hopefully.
